Why choose fused quartz products?Fused quartz
is made from the melting of crushed natural crystalline quartz, with purity above
99.995%. Quartz products feature excellent thermal shock resistance because of
its low coefficient of thermal expansion. Quartz products can work under a wide
thermal operating range and withstand rapid temperate changes. What's the
highest temperature that fused quartz products can withstand? The recommended
maximum operating temperature of our quartz products is 1200°C (2192°F).
Some key thermal properties are:
What
is the chemical composition of your clear fused quartz products?
 How
is the chemical resistance of fused quartz products? Compared with most
other materials, quartz products exhibit excellent chemical resistance to most
acid, alkaline and neutral materials. The only exceptions are hydrofluoric acid
which attacks quartz products at all temperatures, and phosphoric acid which attacks
quartz at temperature above 150°C. What are the engineering
properties of your quartz products?
How
to clean and dry quartz products?Quartz products should be cleaned before
use. Use distilled or deionized water to remove dirt, grease, or stains. Products
that were badly contaminated, or would be used under high temperature or reprocessed,
should be washed by detergent, and then cleaned by distilled or deionized water,
followed by rapid drying. The detergent that's commonly used is prepared
by mixing 40% hydrofluoric acid and water in the proportion of 1 : 2~3. Dip the
quartz products in the acid solution for no more than 5 minutes, then clean it
with deionized water, and dry it rapidly. The products must be dried in
a clean and dustless environment or in special drying equipment to avoid being
polluted again. How to transport and store quartz products?Quartz
products after cleaning must be packed with clean packing materials or be used
immediately. Wearing gloves instead of using your bare hands when touch the products.
Use good cushion materials for packaging. As quartz products are fragile, be very
careful to avoid collision during packing, transportation, storage and usage. What
should I pay attention to when I use quartz products?- High temperature
can accelerate devitrification, esp. when in presence of alkaline solution, salts,
vapors or oxidation environment. Devitriciation can be forestalled by washing
the quartz surface in the hydrofluoric acid detergent (as describe above), rinsing
it thoroughly by deionized water, and drying it rapidly.
- Compared with
other materials, quartz products are less expanded when temperature increases.
Therefore, care should be taken when quartz products are connected with other
materials.
- When using large and thick quartz products or irregular shapes,
be careful not to heat up or cool down too quickly.
- When used under heavy
load in high temperature, thicker quartz products should be considered.
